“Hello, I’m Skip
Hemelaar, born (1994) and raised in Haarlem, the Netherlands. I pursued my BBA at ESADE in
Barcelona, where I met Luca.
Over the past 5 years, I’ve worked in Sales & Trading at ACT Commodities and found joy in
spending time with my family and friends, indulging in music, playing golf, and managing my
Amsterdam restaurants, Café Beurre and Café Le Petit Péché, which I opened with two friends.
The concept behind Saeta is to embrace the art of slowing down, to appreciate the small yet
significant pleasures in life, reflecting the Mediterranean lifestyle and its ethos of ‘il
dolce far niente’ – a philosophy that contrasts with my fast-paced work life but which I
believe everyone needs more of. My hope is that Saeta will inspire people to take a moment
to slow down, observe their surroundings, and find gratitude in life’s simple
beauties.”

“Hi, I’m Luca, a native
Milanese with a burning passion for bringing the best of Italy to the world. Raised in Milan
and later moving to Barcelona to study business administration at ESADE, I met my business
partner Skip. Together, we created Saeta, a cedro-based spirit that embodies the
quintessence of Italianity.
I strongly believe in the power of human connections and creating unforgettable memories.
That’s why I’m committed to selecting the finest Italian raw materials, distilling them to
perfection, and ensuring that Saeta offers a complete sensory experience, just like true
Italian craftsmanship.
Saeta is more than just a spirit: it’s a celebration of conviviality in the true Italian
style of ‘dolce far niente’, and I’m convinced it will capture hearts and minds worldwide. I
